Try This Experiment To Boost Your Productivity

As a mom, entrepreneur, and someone who prioritizes health and self-care, it’s easy for my days to fill up quickly. That’s why I believe in working smarter vs. working harder.

But when faced with tasks that I don’t want to do (e.g. taxes, administrative paperwork, tech debugging, yard work, hello this week), I start to feel overloaded. It can feel like I’m slogging through an endless to-do list. That’s why it’s always a blessing to tune into my heart and soul for Dragon Spirit wisdom.

If you’ve ever felt like you had to work hard to be successful, here’s a simple experiment that the Universe invites you to try this week:

Allow what is to be. Allow things to unfold. Then, assess your day.

Compare it to a day where you work hard, aka push, force, and use your willpower to get things done.

Assess what is accomplished during a “work hard” day vs. a day where you allow things to naturally unfold. Note not just what gets done, but also yourself.

How do you feel at the end of the day? How clear is your thinking? How elevated is your mood? What are your energy levels like?

The reason why you think hardworking days are more productive and the easy peasy “follow your bliss” days are unproductive is because you make your assessment based on one day. If you only compare a single day, your output will likely be higher during the hardworking day.

But if you allow yourself a streak of days where you allow things to unfold, you will find that you can accomplish more by doing less. Your experience results that are exponential to the effort exerted.

And if you were to compare weeks, months, and even years, you would clearly see that the path of least effort is more effective, whereas working hard each day leads to temporary grind followed by burnout.

So, what do you choose for yourself today? Let’s see what unfolds…
